Although this is a very difficult question to answer, I will explain our general pricing guidelines.

Introduction to pricing

First of all, who am I to say that I know how much a professional painting and decorating service should cost?

Not only have I been working in this industry for 5 years now, I have completed an intensive pricing and estimating course ran by the construction industry training board (CITB) for both commercial and domestic estimating. 

During this course I gained a great understanding of the current market rates within the painting and decorating industry, allowing me to provide fair and accurate prices.

I also have access to the SPONS book for painting and decorating which contains the most accurate price data for the UK construction industry. Therefore, I am fully educated with the knowledge and resources needed to use specific pricing models within the industry to provide quick and accurate estimates to all of our clients using a meter rate.

Let's take a look at the pricing

There are two main things to consider when it comes to pricing:

• The initial cost and quality of the material
• The amount of labour required

Please keep in mind that pricing will vary depending on location and the amount of material required. Our pricing here will be based on one colour of premium material on your walls, white on your ceilings and white on your woodwork with minimal preparation.

Based on the prices of all of the jobs we have completed on square meterage, the average price of our projects based on floor space is £52.00m2.

The floor space on most new build properties in a bedroom is around 10m2, therefore including premium material and high levels of preparation you could be looking at a cost of £520.00 for an average sized bedroom.
